I have'nt used my boat since last fall. I did run the motor mid winter to ensure nothing would clog the carbs. Took it to the lake and now she want stay idle? Any suggestion? Is there a gas additive?

todays gas doesn't have a very long tank life anymore..I would drain it and start with fresh fuel and add a fuel stabilizer for 2 cycle engines.. I prefer omc 2+4 but I'm sure merc and yamaha offer products just as good.. Always add fuel stabilzer if your engine is going to sit up for awhile..You might consider some new spark plugs also..The old gas should run ok in car mixed with new gas if you don't want to waste it..Good luck and be safe

Might also spray some carb cleaner through the carbs. B-12 works wonders. I use Pennzoil marine fuel additive.

Yeah at about $70/hour. Good luck. I just had to take mine in because my carbs were plugged and had to put new kits in. I could've done it myself, but probably would've been the winter before I actually had the time to do it. Check the gap on the plugs too. Also check the linkage.
