I guess I'll never be a "collector", because I enjoy using the older reels at times. My favorites are a P 41 Heddon Pal and a Pflueger Akron Mod. # 1893. The Akron is as good a reel as you can put on a fast action rod with 12 lb test line. The Heddon was given to me by a gentleman named Art Nuss, who once travelled the country putting on casting demonstrations and peddeling tackle for various companies. My old red ambassador 5000 [Srial number 730101 on the reel seat] doesn't have a model number, but I bought it new in the early 70's and used it on a lot of fish before upgrding to my current Abu equipment. =ROSS=
