Does anybody know if this is a good reel? I had one given to me and want to know what to expect and what conditions it should be used in.

Thanks.

Some of the early Corsairs had problems. I believe at one time Shimano was exchanging new and/or improved reels for some of the early ones that had problems.
This is from information that I have seen posted over the last several years on a couple of fishing boards.
If the reel works O.K. it should be good for largemouth, stripers and catfish as it's a round reel with pretty good line capacity if I recall. Good luck.

I've had one for about 6 years and have had no problems with it. I just clean it about once a year and thats it.
