from what i understand its affecting Texas from the upper to lower coast. Not as bad as some other yrs but still prevalent.
Fishing has still been moderate to good. Some areas are obviously worse than others. Here is a resent report from seapro todd:

Id say go but, dont fish the bays.

Just got back from 4 days at the coast. Yes, there is red tide and it is affecting some of the areas. East and west Matty are OK and the bay fishing is good. I was surprised to find it in St. Charles bay near the mouth. Not visible, but there was a lot of dead and dying bait type fish and I would be hacking and sneezing on the water. The bite there was horrible, only 1 red out of 5 of us over (2) 4-5 hour trips...nothing would even touch fresh cut mullet! AP area was good ,as was Port Bay. I suspect St Charles got it with the high tide and prevailing wind from Aransas bay which has several feeders from the gulf. The back bay (Cavasso) is OK and the fishing there is good

any updates on PINS? at this time im still plan on heading out first weekend in November. but if its that bad i may have to change plans and find another beach. im taking my brothers surf fishing they have never done it and are completely pumped up about the trip. i just hope red tide fades out soon and we at least have a chance at some fish. ive checked the TXPW website and see brief updates. no word if its fading in any particular areas. any info would be great. thanks

I didn't see any dead fish at HI where I launched except some hardheads that had been tossed in a pile on the beach by somebody catching them the night before.
