With nothing flying in the winter, what kind of live bait works? Crickets, grasshoppers, and other bugs, along with the standard worms and minnows, work best when they are naturally occurring. (Or am I wrong here?)

Wondering what kind of live bait works best in the winter. Minnows, chad, and worms? Would crickets and meal worms work also?

Well Steve, what are you fishing for? I can help with stripers. In the order of productivity I would have to say shad, perch, gold fish, shiners. Each has their good and bad points.
