Ok with all the big fish we have seen here my wife is wanting to go to Falcon for the first time so I am in need of some help.
Would it be better in the first or last of Oct or wait till Nov.?
Is there anyone we can tag along with that is going some time in this time frame.

We will be down there the first week in November. It's our third trip down there. You won't be disappointed whenever you decide to go!

I would go in late Oct or early November.

Lots of big tournaments there in October and the lake will be crowded. By big I mean 200+ boat tournaments. Also accomodations will be tight with this many tourneys in town.

Check out Falcon Lake Tackles website to see all the tourneys, but here are a couple:

San Antonio Metro City Champtionship - Oct 1-3
Bass Champs South Championship - Oct 8 - 11.

Just my .02

I will be making a couple of trips in November just as I have the past three years. You can have a couple of dates in mind and plan it looking at the 10 day forecast for wind. Nothing will kill a 2-3 day trip down there like a strong North wind. I have been able to easily find a room with a couple of days notice each trip there in Nov-Dec. As far as help, I know it has been said before, but James at FLT will literally point to the map on his counter for locations and provide pattern help as well. Be careful taking the wife, mine has been twice and will not go to any other lake with me now. She expects every lake to provide as much fun and it just isn't happening. lol

I will be there the Columbus Day, October 10, weekend in Oct and the Veterans Day, November 11, weekend in Nov. I have been going to Falcon at least once or twice a month the past couple of years. So far I plan on staying at Oso Blanco.

Becuase the lake fishes on a level 100 times better then any other lake. After you fish there no other place will satisfy.

My buddy and I just booked at Best Western for the 8-10th. Our schedules basically dictate when we can go, but this news is somewhat of a bummer. At least we know about it beforehand, though. Thanks for the heads up.
