Had a chance to fish with some new friends this morning as the Lewisville Fishing Club met on the water for the first time to fish as a group.. We all met up around 8:00am at Twin Poles and as we were getting our "howdy's" in, I couldn't help but wonder out loud what all the boats passing us must've been thinking.. We probably had 12-15 boats in tight, within 3-4 ft of each other.. ("Looky over there, those clowns are all trying to fish the same hump!")

Couple of boats had already been in some fish before we met up, so around 8:15 we all took off to go play with the topwater school that Sean's group had been fishing.. After that action died down, I think most of us eventually ended up back out in the main lake chasing another topwater school..

My dinks-to-keeper ratio was probably 5-1 today, but it was a lot of fun fishing with a good group of guys & gals! I headed in around 10:45 to meet up with a couple of buddies to shoot a round of sporting clays..

Tried to get pics of most of the boats that were out there today.. I don't know everyone well enough yet to put a name with a boat, but I'll do my best..

The only official club award that was handed out today was "The fastest boat in the Lewisville Fishing Club".. No one could catch up to it to get an accurate reading, but estimates were anywhere between 85-90 mph!

At first glance, what looks to be a regular, nice Bass Tracker..

turned out to be, well, more HP than any of us could keep up with!

HAHAHA! I am afraid to run this mofo wide open, but T-Bone I bet 85-90 is about top end! thumb That will be the last time you ever see me run that fast. I promise that I will never run more than 30 mph in that boat again. rolfmao rolfmao

Haha..did not know that you took pictures of it.

Sorry I had to catchup with everyone late. Great to meet the folks I did meet later. We got onto some hybrids early and couldn't get my son or his buddy to leave. The sales pitch of "we can catch fish later, the meeting is about to start and that is why we came this morning" didn't work. My son's friend has been fishing one other time in his life with us and caught four or five dinks on Grapevine. Couldnt get them to take sassy shads, we were catching them on bluegill deeper diving crankbaits. He won't forget this one for awhile.

Dang... Sorry I missed a great time to meet everyone on the water. Great pics. Sure wish I could have been there. Obviously I missed a great day on the water.

Unfortunately I was going to have some hail dents repaired on my 2002 Nissan Frontier but Progressive had other ideas. They totaled my truck on Thursday because of $3000 damage and paid me almost $7000 for the vehicle instead. Had to go truck shopping Saturday because I'm leaving for Seetwater Monday morning.

Picked up a good deal on a 2004 Totota Tundra with 44,000 miles on it! It'll be a whole lot safer pulling my heavy boat now.

I'll be there next meeting.

The only thing that wasn't great about yesterday was the HEAT flame

Bassthumb and I left around 10 or so with a couple of limits on the clicker.

It was nice meeting every one. We need to get a group of us together sometime to hit Texoma when the stripers start hitting topwater on the Texas Flats.

Good times guys. That was fun. Just got in about two hours ago with two limits of Sandies. Several magnums off deadmans using slabs. Ended up with the rest of you guys at the boat show catching topwater until they went down.

I caught one under hybrid off deadmans as well.

Ditto on what Bassthumb said, took the toon a lookin for fish, and got right in the midst of the top water action by Vaughns point. Top water action till your arm got sore, magnum and Hybrid deeper.

A friend's kid had a birthday, and they followed us. They too caught a limit, I gave his son my secret lure, and off to catching they went.

Good times ...till it got hot and I had to bring my lovely lady back to shore.

Tight Lines everyone....
