Bassthumb and I went out to Lewisville yesterday and immediately were on the Sandbass


Got tired of catching sandies, so went in search of the "Bonus" fish...AKA "Hybrid" or "Wiper"
Anyway, after going through my trusty GPS waypoints, we hit the mother load on spot #2. Ended the night with 13 boated Hybrids and at least a limit of sandbass too. The hybrids ranged from 4lbs to 7lbs. Bassthumb caught the biggest one that pushed 7lbs and he thinks is his personal best.

Awesome job. went this morning and caught 4 all around 5 lbs.

Pitt caught one with a hook stuck in its back. we removed it and released in unharmed. the hook had become rusty. it shows how resilient these hybrids are. who knows how long it had it in it.

I should be out on the water today pending the wind when i get off work. I'll be searching for the ever elusive "bonus fish".

And yes I will be at Sneaky Pete's on Saturday.

I need to give a shout out to the 8" sandbass that hit the slab I was throwing tonight, you kept me from getting skunked.. Been a while since I fished with a breezy NE wind on Lewisville..

Yesterday stunk with the wind out of the east. It threw us off big time and the bite was crappy. landed three fish on slabs. One big hybrid, a drum, and a largemouth of all things.

Bassthumb will address all questions related to catching Drum at all club meetings.
