Headed to Lake Buchanan this weekend with some friends, and have decided to take my boat. Just wondering if anyone has any info on the bass fishing. Never been to the lake so any info will help. Thanks in advance.

I will also be on Lake Buchanan this weekend and my first time to fish it. If you see a black and white Triton flag me down. Best of luck to you.

For those coming to Buchanan be extremely careful. Only run in the main channel. Even though you may be in 30-40ft of water there are trees just under the surface as well especially on the norther end from striper island up. Be extremly carful around Alcatraz and Flag Island. There are huge granite rock croppings all over those areas.

As far as ramps the only one that is open is Paradise Point. I have been launching at Edgewater of the bank. I have a 24ft Century Inshore and have no problem so I am sure a bass bass boat will be fine.

Very limited knowledge of that lake (well, overall, really... banana )...but I do know squarebills work really well there, I have caught some solid fish there off of those...and mag flukes/senkos (esp if u see/find baitfish)...be careful!

We all stumble and make mistakes. When you stumble, do you want your brother to help knock you down or to help set you back on your feet?

I live on the lake and I thought the old Burnet County Ramp was still open, I think now they call it White Bluff. Anyway's my boy and I went out last week and caught 11 bass in three hours with four keepers, nothing big but the keepers were all about two and a half pounds each. Fished the right point going into Morgan Creek with chug bugs early catching about 6 fish, the rest came all kvd square bill and brush hogs back into Morgan on the steep bluff on the east side. Be carefull out there!!
