Anyone fished Sheldon Reservoir lately? A buddy and I fished this past Sunday and did alright on Senkos. Caught about 8-10 with the largest probably around 2.5lbs. Anyone have any suggestions as we plan on going back really soon? Thanks.

I haven't been there in about 2 months and with the drought I don't even know what it looks like. My Dad and I were going to go the other day but I didn't know if we would be able to launch the boat so we decided not to go. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

we've recently started fishing Sheldon because it's only 30 minutes from home. and have done about the same every time. we usually catch 5 or so most dinks with a few 3s mixed in and a skinny 4 but we've been only about 4 times. however have heard good stories of that lake in the spring and from my little experience... don't bother throwing any kind of frog in the small quarter sized pads because they won't hit it ...but I'm also interested in hearing how others have been doing

We fished from about 7am to 12:30pm. Its low, low, low right now but we were able to launch my buddies 20' Hurricane deckboat. We didn't have any problems running aground or anything. We fished mainly in the 2'-3' range but there's a few areas that are a little deeper. We need rain, plain as that...

Sheldon at full pool averages 4 ft deep with two spots down to 15. Mostbof your better fish come out in the trees now that the hydrilla isn't what it used to be. The population of fish in lake is outstanding to say the least and truly big fish aren't a rare occurrence. I personally have 3 over 10 out of it and can't count the 7-8s. I have a buddy who sacked a true giant, 13+, a few years back. We never turned any the fish in for fear of exploring the little lake more than it needs to be. Personally I feel the lake, um stinks, since most grass is gone. Pm me for details
I can backlash toilet paper.

I would recommend throwing a Spro frog. Green top/ yellow belly. It is truely amazing how shallow those fish stay.

That rattlesnake is amazing I thought I was one of the only ones around here that uses that bait. I picked it up when I was living in east texas and you could buy them anywhere but since I moved to Houston only place I can find it is Gander Mtn and Academy in Conroe which neither is close to me so I usually order them online.
