Newbie to the soon to be Kayak Nation. I have been checking out kayaks. Needless to say WOW!!! A lot of nice rides out there. I was fixing to pull the trigger on a used kayak. But low and behold I may of found my new Ride. Anyone seen one of these in person or even tried one out yet? Looks like a great kayak.

I've spent some time in one. It's a very stable kayak with a high capacity. I paddled it on a very cold and windy (sustained 20 gusting near 30 out of the north) January day in Galveston and was surprised how well id paddled and tracked. It's a great kayak, just a little too wide for me.

The newest ones have the ability to trim the yak some by moving the seat forward or backward I think. Looks cool. Stable as heck and as solid and durable as you're gonna find. But they are heavy and wide and they're not particularly fast.

these were the only negatives i have about the ride135:

it was a really wet ride especially in choppy water
kind of punched through the waves rather than riding over them
this is ok in the summer and fall only. my front hatch never sealed quit right.
lastly, i didnt like that the rear handle was off to one side.
never did figure why they did that.

Check out a Heritage Redfish. They are great kayaks. Really stable, solid construction, and they have a comfortable seat.
