I am trying to figure out how to hook up a whole house HEPA filter to my central Lennox HVAC. its a heat pump style unit. The intake is in the hallway of our house, and I am trying to figure out how I would put a HEPA unit in-line with this system. Are there any people who do this, that would offer me professional advice. I found a Honeywell 500 online, but the intake and output ports aren't very big. It says the input on the H-500 is basically the return air, which makes me think that is actually the large vent portion of my HVAC.??
help. allergens are killing us inside our house!

someone told me to check each vent, as the ducting may be coming apart. I have a small humidifier set up and the intake side is almost solid yellow from the incoming air into the machine!
thanks Markit! is the rough estimate to get one of those installed around $2200? that was what I was told.

Just buy 4-5 Rabbit Air purifiers. I have been using one for years and love it. If you move, you can take them with you.

My fan busted on Sat (100 degrees/100% humidity in H-Town) not good, luckily a neighbor owns an AC Co and swooped in and fixed it. He said those high dollar filters will bow up in the return air hole and that means your fan is working 10x harder, hence the broken fan. I always bought the tru-blue filters that were .75 ea at HD, wife said we needed fancy filters for the kids, needless to say I rubbed it in pretty good as she sat there sweating puddles on Sat. Just FYI

LOL! Just glad I can still tie my shoes.. i think. LOL! i dont want any extra strain on my lennox. I darn sure dont want to be replacing parts in it from a restriction in the ducting.

You may not need that many. they are about $400. Filters are $80- change every 2-3 years.
