i was told last night that by a amateur angler that watermelon is the worst color and thats why i catch small fish so i figured id ask u guy how many of u use this color. im trying to prove a point!

my fav worm is the watermelon red/black Strike King Rage tail. I also like the Watermelon Candy color Power Worm. Caught an 8 pounder on each of those colors.

Guilty! Watermelon red is a staple of the bass fishing world.

I throw it in clear to very lightly stained water during the day because it's one of the most visible colors but I also throw bubblegum during that part of the day in that type of water.

This is just me thinking, not proof, I havn't caught many texas bass so my experience is 10+ years old and from georgia lakes.

I know fish don't outgrow colors but they do occaisionally outgrow forage types. Size of bait matters more than color of bait for fish sizes and even that is more effected by things like whether the fish are in a feeding mode or more sedate and only eating what's in their face. A big bass will spend more energy on a big meal than a small meal regardless of color.

One of my fav color combos is watermelon and cream because I can throw the cream down during bright hours and flip the worm with watermelon down for darker hours.

75% of my worms are some sort of watermelon or Blue Fleck.

i throw watermelon in tournaments when moneys on the line its what im confident in.

Yep that's why I caught a 14 lber on watermelon red Saturday! Oh and don't even think about going to Falcon Lake without some watermelon red mag flukes or dingers/senko type baits. Good rule of thumb, dirty water/cloudy = black/blu; dirty water/sunny =junebug; clear water/cloudy=green pumpkin; clear water/sunny=watermelon something. Not a hard and fast rule but four basic colors of soft plastics that will get you bit in any situation.
