I hear ya, its really bad for us bankers.....

Its times like these I wish I had a boat. But got no money to buy nor store one. I dont even have aa steady schedule where I can befriend someone who does and pay him in return...

There's a creek cove around my place that is fed by rain water from a flood plain.
It was my favorite place because the catches were always good, beatiful scenery, and you had the place all to yourself.

I knew for sure it would be suffering because of the drought. But I went Saturday morning just to see how it is.
It was all dried hard dirt, not even mud. I actually walked down the middle of the creek (where normally I wouldve been in shoulder deep water) and kept coming across the skeletal remains of fish everywhere: bass, bowfins, gars, catfish, EVERYTHING....

I pretty much fish at this other creek now. Its okay, but I dont get the same results.

We just gotta keep trying, pray for rain, and go fishing with our heads up.

Just hope it gets better this fall. Tough summer to start fishing again.

It's called global warming. By now all scientists not in the pay of the energy industry have acknowledged it is real, but all of them argue about exactly how it will affect the climate.

One theory says as the warming continues the Chihuahuan Desert will advance steadily northward, so that much of Texas will be desert. The moderate climate will move northward in advance of the desert. If you want to enjoy the kind of climate we have had in the past you will have to move north.

The whole picture is clouded by the natural climate cycles, which are not well understood. But most scientists are sure this is not a natural cycle. If it were we would be getting cooler.

I agree. I was supposed to go to this Global Warming Awareness rally today but it was just too damn hot.

I think they already scrapped the whole "Global warming" term
and are now calling it "Climate Change", because some places are getting droughts while other places are getting drenched constantly.

I honestly dont think any scientist has the weather figured out. Im only 30 but Ive seen many droughts in my area before. Then in other years, we have weeks of constant rain (overflooding the creek-cove that I mention above, so much I cant even park my truck near there).

When I was around 7-10, we would get light snow in the winter. Then nothing while I was 12-20. Then we started getting snow again in the last 5 years (the heaviest Ive seen was this past year).

I've been fishing for carp more this summer to make up for the lack of other fish.

As to the Climate Change: It's one of those things where we know the stuff we spew into the air isn't good for us (regardless if it causes the Climate Change or not), so why not try and reduce the amount we produce. But there really is no way to say for certain that this isn't a natural phenomenon which the earth cycles through.

It'll get better...hopefully.

Git a tube. I had some nice fish yesterday in 15-23 ft of water. All on White and chartreuse Bobby Garlands

There will always be climate change, the issue is if it is caused by human activity which is the debate. At one time parts of North America were covered by a glacier that was thousands of feet thick. Would have to have an oil rig to cut through the ice back then even if you wanted to ice fish.

As in inner tube? How does that rank on the boat rules scale? More specifically could you use one of those as a 'boat' in a pond that specifies no MOTOR boats and no wading?? If so then this may just be the way for us to go.

Elegance lies in simplicity.

Something like this

I don't fish restricted ponds that say no wading. I couldn't really answer that question.
