Howdy, folks...I live in DFW, and love to fly fish. I'm moving to Houston (soon to be living on the NE side), and I would love to try my hand at some of the popular fly fishing I can do on the coast. I assume there are decent places close to Houston. Anyone have any guides or places they'd recommend? I have an eight wt fly rod/reel, which I assume is adequate for some wade/surf fishing. Thanks in advance.

bvh55, Also, you might want to mention this on the freshwater forum to catch someone's attention. There's a guy who fishes the bayous in houston for carp and "emancipated aquarium fish" They're some of the strangest looking catfish I've ever seen and at 4-5 pounds, they'll put the fear of God in an Oscar As for saltwater fishing, Captain Scott Null came and talked to our club here in FW and I've heard from friends of mine who have fished with him that he's one of the best. Or you could contact Fishing Tackle unlimited on the Gulf freeway to see who they wouldd recommend. http://www.fishingtackleunlimited.com/Good luck. Les
