so today i was finally able to work on my new (to me) boat given to me by my parents about 2-3 months ago, i finally got all the parts in to make her run again, the boat sat since 03-04 until i got my hands on her now shes lives again once more, i had to replace 2/6 coils, temperature switch, rewire/repair the battery ground wire from being chewed up by a rat or squirrel, and replace the throttle cables i still have the replace the carpet and get the boat detailed, then she is finished i ran the motor for 15+ mins before i throttled up like i did in the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jV4UskXEirE

With her sitting that long you need to change the impeller before you take her out.

Check all the rubber hoses inside the cowling and the fuel hoses running from the gas tank to the motor. A broken hose can do bad things inside.

Kudos to the guys at Fun N Sun, Hurst. I took my Skeeter in for a new trolling motor install on Monday of last week. Told Mat I did not need the boat until this weekend. Received a call on Thursday of the same week telling me the boat was ready. I know their service department was busy and appreciate the over and above service they provided. I have also used the service department in Grandbury and recieved the same great turn around and service. As a side note they also gave me a good deal on a new Minn Kota 101 Fortex.
