I clean mine on my tailgate on a piece of plywood most of the time. Guts go back in the lake when I am done cleaning.

We have a fish cleaning station at the Anglers Club. Guts go into the lake fillets go with me. If I fish another lake I have a piece of plywood that fits on my tailgate. Home Depot bucket with new lid ($3.00) for the guts. I'll seal the lid and dump where available. If not I'll freeze the bucket and let the trashmen take it on trash day.

I clean mine at home on a plastic top folding table outside. I throw the guts out in the woods away from house.

im surprised more of you dont use the fish guts in your gardens.

put it in a sealed 5 gallon bucket, fill the rest of the bucket with dirt that needs some nitrogen. and dont open it for a long time LOL.

Guts in the freezer for those of you who clean at home. That way you can trash them the day of pickup and never smell anything.

I like to clean them at the lake, so generally I will only keep fish from lakes that have cleaning stations. Otherwise I will let my friends take all the fish.

There is a BIG difference between fish guts and catfish fins/spines. Step on one wrong and they'll go right through your shoe. They will also puncture tires on garden tillers, ATV's and lawn tractors. The hard bone in the fins/spines doesn't break down like the smaller bones from scaley fish. Best bet it to feed the turtles critters or buzzards, bury them or fertilize a ditch.

if I am out on my boat I clean them while I am about ready o go home I have a 12" walk around down the side of my boat and use it or the top of my cooler . I save my ice bags and stick them inside them kida give them a good rinseing in the sink at home. Guts go in the lake, If I clean them at home I take the guts out on the farm and dump them under a tree critters clean them up.

them on a board on my tailgate. In fact the only fish that ever enter my house are cooked. After I clean them and wash them real good outside I bag and freeze them in the garage freezer if we are not eating them within a day. I always fry the fish outside so my wife is really happy. No fish smell in the house and she doesn't even have to cook (just make slaw because I love slaw). I usually clean up everything so she really doesn't get put out with my fishing. And the guts and stuff, they find their way back to the lake.

I have plenty of critters around to clean up the remains over night. Sometimes I take the remains to the river for the critters there. Never see them again and never have any odor either way. Ought to be good fishing tomorrow with the winds low.

I have a table set up at my boat slip. Guts go into the lake. Never gets smelly at my house. Well sometimes it does, but not from fish!

Tailgate on a piece of plywood, put the guts in a 5 gallon bucket half full of water. I usually clean after the sun goes down and I leave out right as the sun is coming up. I dump them in the first pond / creek I come to. You won't have a big problem with smell unless they sit out in the heat and get ripe.....
