To make sure that Midland, Odessa, San Angelo, Abliene all have drinking water. O.K makes sense but who would pay for such a thing? That would be tens of millions of dollars and Amistad was built with Mexico, are they going to allow the taking of the water. Of course all of this is hypothetical because it will never happen.

Not too sure, who would pay for it.
City of Ft Worth paid to have a pipeline run all the way from Richland Chambers to Lake Benbrook, and then on to Eagle Mountain, just to make sure they will always have a drinking water supply.
If there is a need, then they will find a way to make something happen.

If you remember last july amistad was 17' over pool. all that went into the gulf of mexico, enough to fill ivie many times. we pump oil all over the world up and down hill. to hell w/ mexico, we are feeding and schooling 10% of their people now. thats our problem here in america now, we support the rest of the world, the day will come when water will cost as much as oil.i'am off my soap box.

Instead of a pipeline they should run and above ground aquaduct like california does. You can move a lot more water that way. I looked on google and I don't think they could do it from the lake but they could on rio below the lake. It would be a great deal heck the colorado river and lake mead provides water to all of southern Nevada and southern California.

I don't think the elevation will allow an above ground aqueduct. It's going to have to be pumped.

Of course all of this is hypothetical because it will never happen. if it never rains agian in odessa midland somthing will have to happen. they have implimented tougher water restrictions here now as of july 1 but if it doesnt rain it wont be enough. this drought is really getting old.. i never thought i would see the end of the concho park ramps, hope i dont see the end of the elm creek ramps too

It would be a great deal heck the colorado river and lake mead provides water to all of southern Nevada and southern California. I watched a show the other day about Mead and they are having to put a new straw in the lake because the current one is in danger of being out of the water column. Now that place will have serious issues if they run out of water, all of Vegas and surrounding areas. Sure do need a cane to come on up for sure, or at least a little regular rainfall would be nice. Remember by the way, Amistad was 55 ft low a couple years ago, not sure that is the solution either.

im in abilene and we down to watering yards two days a week. im from ohio and this drought thing is sort of new to me. I havent really thought about water for us bc im only 22 and its a big world and i think that we will find a way. my biggest thought is whats going to happen to our fishing waters. it to expensive to hunt here and fishing is really all i got for some relaxation time. i think texas should just ban the usage of yard watering all together. but in turn another thing that that would be a problem that im not very fimilar with is the wildfire thing. we have to do something soon or not only will be be not able to fish but we wont have any drinking water. its a double wammy. all the money spent for drinking water and then all the money spent to restock the lakes when they come back. its scrary to think about it for me.something needs to change.
I fish therefore i am! Tight lines yall. U.S. Air force active duty pb 8.5 pounds
