Anyone seen anything like this before? Darkside Don and I both agree that it was the strangest growth we have ever seen on any fish.

It looks like fish get many of the same or similar ailments in humans..might be a tumor. Whatever it is, I wouldn't put it under a knife and eat it.

The fish has a tumor. Without a biopsy and histology you can't say for sure whether it's a benign or malignant; however since the fish looks otherwise healthy I would say a contained benign tumor or cyst. The fish will probably live out a normal lifespan unless the tumor gets so big it interferes with its vital organs.

It kind of looked like he had a golf ball imbedded under his skin. I figured it was a tumor and he was set free, even though the kid in me wanted to see if I could POP it. LOL
