Beware the ferry wait times and random vehicle searches in Galveston not to mention the crowds...

That said take 610 or the beltway to I45 South all the way to Galveston

Exit Harborside Dr (First exit after causeway)go to stop sign make a left on to harbor side drive

Take Harborside Dr. past UTMB to Ferry Rd.

Turn Left onto ferry Rd take all the way to Ferry... Ride to Bolivar and you will exit the Ferry to HWY 87...this will take you all the way to the bridge @ Roll Over Pass

Hey Mo,

The fishing at Roll Over Pass is pretty darn good there for most of the time. Here's some good pointers from my expereiences in the past few years. Your best results to catch your share of fish is on the OutGoing tide there. When you arrive there i would recommend fishing on the gulf side of the bridge right in front of the closed store call "RollOver Pass Bait and Tackle" that got knocked out by the hurricane last year. Find you a good fishing spot in front of the store right by the wall there. Fish there on the outgoing tide, fish with dead weights, with live baits. Live baits that I highly recommend are the mud minnows, croaker, and live shad. Those 3 work really well. If you use them with the dead weight you surely should cacth some goodens like Specks, Reds, and Flounder. If you want to fish for some flounder, just cast your line abour 5-10 in front from the wall there, thats where they hang out and where I have caught and otheres have caught some real nice flounders. I have fished there long enough to tell you this with confidence.

Now, I plan on going out there this weekend especially this weekend because it is supposed to be a 4 tide movement. And when there's more movement of the tides theres more movement of bait in the water. You're chances are greater too to catch some fish.

NOW, as for "SEAWEED" lately there have been reports that theres still some of that stuff still lingering there in the water. I myself am hoping that it will clear out by this weekend but I am going to call this RV Bait and Tackle store and ask them what the water conditions are before I head it out there. Here's that number incase you to wanna call to find out for yourself: 409-286-5712. There's some good wading there on the bay side area too. Little fishies are good to use along with some live bait too like mud minnnows on light dead weight.

As for camping, not a problem neither. I and my wife camp out there everytime week go down there. Theres good places there to camp out but don't put your guard down you just never know ok. I always take something extra for protection cuz you never know. There's plenty of people that camp out there too so usually it is pretty safe.

Well partner there ya go. Good luck and be carefull!!! thumb
