It's not hard at all. My buddy pulled a 20 incher out of Cibolo Creek tonight. Along with 2 channels one 16 inches the other 18 inches.

If you put a flathead in your pond it will eventually eat just about everything in the pond. And they are hard to catch to get out.

If you have other fish already reproducing then at some point depending on the size of the tank/pond you risk them over populating. A flathead will help keep this from happening.

I know a 1 acre pond that has a little depth to it with a few nice flats(30+, 35, an 20+ lb'rs) and still has good size crappie and bass in it not to mention alot of perch.

"good luck to all,on or off the water." S-n-W may help you're odd's.

Fishing is not an addiction. It's a way of life.

Yea he caught it around 6-7 p.m. We catch quite a few of them out of there along with channels.

The problem with keeping a flathead as a pet is he/she will never accept being a pet. They have a very small brain.

Are you wanting to keep it in an aquarium?

I would imagine a flatty would be a tank buster.

It would take a very large aquarium. Even if it was small, that bad boy is gonna grow. And it wouldnt take long to outgrow a small aquarium. I had a channel cat in a 20 gallon tank one time, for abaout a year. It grew to over a foot long, and ate all my other fish. The stock tank, or kiddie pool would be best. My first choice would be the stock tank. Thats what I have in my back yard.
