I was looking in to taking a hybrid trip with him last year with a couple of buddies.

I've always heard he was the man on RH for big hybrids but don't hear much about him here on the TFF.

Any thoughts?

I would invest my money with John Varner. He will not only put you on fish but will educate you about the lake as well.

Big Hybrids are not always that easy to find on Hubbard no matter who you go with, and if a guide, on Hubbard, guarantees you big Hybrids, I want his number.

I forgot to mention that on Varner's boat the trolling motor works, Procell never uses his.

i fish hubbard almost everyday I fish only live bait this time of year.in the month of may I probably boated over three hundred hybrids up to 10 pounds .the fishing has slowed since this weekend ,but if I was looking for good hybrid fishing you need to try this.

Thanks guys , if you are wanting to catch just BIG hybrids you would have better luck with live bait . Doug ( sassyman) is a very good bait fisherman and that is what he targets . I am a white bass guide and catch hybrids but I do not just target hybrids I can catch them though

yup these guides can catch em big. i git 17 15/16 inchers somehow

I fished with him twice and we tore them up. All on lures in the middle of a boat show. They didnt catch any hybrids, we did.

yup on other post they say procell has lake record hybrid 19 pounder. some peolple chase the bigguns
