Hey guys, I know I've posted before but I'm headed to Mustang Island State Park on Thurs night. Probably won't hit Corpus until about 10:30-11 pm. We'll head straight over the causeway and up to the state park. Here's my question, I need some tackle and bait. Are there any places around that area that I can pick up some shrimp/squid and small tackle (just swivels/hooks/weights and popping corks) that late at night? I need help please!!!
Thanks,
cgstrange

Be aware the park closes at 10pm, and doesn't open again until 7am.

Thanks for the info hedgehog, I thought there was something there, but wasn't sure.
Cochese, the park will give us the code to open the gate for Thursday night, we just have to call them on Thursday. Thanks though,
Anywhere else?

CG, there are several Wal-Marts in CC that are open 24 hours. One is right after you exit 37 on to 358 to SPID. It's the exit after the Leopard exit. Big sign says open 24 hours. They should have what you need. Try the Break-a-way surf weights if they have them. Excellent weights, they collapse when you pull to reel in or get a fish on..........One thing if you are coming through S.A. around 4-6 pm, do not attempt to continue down IH10 through downtown. Might suggest you take 173 out of Kerrville, through Hondo and Devine until it dead ends at Highway 16 north of Jourdanton. South to 97 to Pleasanton, 281 south onto 37 south. You will spend an hour in traffic from before Loop 410 to almost downtown, maybe more than that. Thats about 6 miles in an hour. You'll save time the above way or cutting west on 1604 to 151, go down to Highway 90 then over to 37, construction on 151 but not as bad as I10-410 interchange. Good luck, hope you tear them up.

TOO, we'll hit San Antonio about 7-8 if on schedule. Think they'll be any probs then? If we're early I might just take the long loop around, but I'm hoping that we'll miss most of that.
Let me know . . . and thanks for the heads up!!!
Report will follow next Monday

You should be fine at that hour of the evening, traffic isn't too bad at all--usually

unless there's a wreck, then after 7 it's manageable as Cochese says.

Hey CG, if you are coming on I10 east just take 1604 east till you hit 37. You can avoid all the mess in between that way. Or you could take 410 to 281 south and follow the sins to 37 south Corpus Christi. That's 410 east.

OOOOH nono no if you are coming in to SA anytime before 9pm you are cool but after, stay away from 410 there is night construction that starts at 9pm and goes all night! I know i live here if you want to go the fast way dont take 1604 all the way to 37 as that will take you about an hour! if you are coming from I10 just come on in towards town and take 35n exit when you are in front of downtown immediatly after taking that exit you will start seeing signs for I37 just take exit 37 S and it will take you all the way out and put you right on the right trac to hit corpus! oh and if you are coming anywhere near 281 you can just take 281 towards town it turns into 37 and will take you right through sanantonio with no problems and put you right on the right trac to hit corpus plus you will get a nice veiw of the city on your right as your going down 37 lol
oh yea for bait shops you can hit trainers or causeaay bait and tackle those are the ones that are on either side of the bridge and they sell live shrimp, one more thing if you happen to get a wild hair up you Arse and want to get a tattoo while your down there go by the island and stop by ace tatto or peggys tattoo they are both owned by my brother in law his name is jesse and they are the only ones on the island aside from some other one i forgot the name but just tell em bella and JJ sent ya and they will cut ya a sweet deal!
oh and good luck!
