 In a couple hours I'll be heading down I-10 towards Louisiana where I'll board a boat that will take me to the Chandeleur Islands! The Chandeleurs are home to what many consider the best saltwater fishing in the United States. I can't wait! They took a good hit from the hurricanes last year but the islands are still there and according to recent reports so are all the fish. My buddy described it to me like this, "There are so many fish there, you can't fall out of the boat without catching a trout in your shirt pocket."   I'm taking the kayak out there in hopes of accessing some of the smaller cuts and lakes in search of hefty reds. I'll also be using the skiffs provided by the charter to go after trout along the shorelines. If the surf isn't too rough I'll be spending plenty of time there looking for some big bull reds and fat specks. I'm pumped! Wish me luck - I'll have a long report and plenty of pictures when I get back.  See ya'!

I have not fished the islands , but have fished
Breton Sound. It can be amazing fishing. Good
luck , take lots of pic ( of the fish and the
islands )
