I have some questions about installing a Lowrance Elite-5 DSI color locator on my Motorguide trolling motor and another Elite-5 color with GPS on my console. The power wires for these units are very small gauge and the instructions say connect hem to a fuse with no statement regarding the size fuse or should it be an inline fuse. For the bow mount is it acceptable to tap into and accessory 12v plug at the bow that is connected to the ACC switch on the dash? For the console mount should I connect to the ACC switch or run back to the battery? What gauge wire (if necessary) and type connectors should I use?

Again, thank you for any advice you can provide.

1. The in-line fused is a 3 amp fuse.
2.yes, is ok to tap into your acc. 12v plug. just make sure you put a in line fuse.
3. thats up to you on running straight to the battery or to a acc. switch. What size ga. wire. 20ga or tad smaller would do fine.
