I put new LED lights on my boat trailer today. I even replaced the plug at the truck. My flashers work, but nothing else. I am not a master at wiring, but this is all new wire on the lights. I though maybe it was loose at the hitch so I redid the wiring and still just flashers. Anyone know someone in the Burleson area I could take it and have it looked at. I want my new lights working. Or any pointers on what to try?

I believe LED's are polarity sensative, jhow many wires on each light, sounds like a couple of wires crossed??? bg

There is a fuse for trailer lights? I will check fuses. My tail lights work on the truck. 3 wires per lights; ground, turn, and tail. All were color coded. My blinkers work so i assume the lights are wired correctly?

I would check the trailer ground first, it is usualy a common problem.

Is it a flat 4 prong or something else?

depending on the vehicle then yes there is a fuse under the hood that controls the towing package lighting. I know mine blew last year on my Ford.

It is a 2000 Silverado, with aftermarket wiring.

to test plug, U must have a tester unit one that U ground to truck or white wire on plug then put other end in the flat 4 way plug and turn on lights or turn signals, move the tester from hole to hole C whish lights up ( maybe i explained it)
or google hook up trailer wireing

Smile while you still have teeth.

Jump up and down on the trailer tongue.( while hooked to the vehicle) If the lights all suddenly work, it was a bad ground.

Now, Donald...please pick John Bolton for your running mate.

If ground was bad none would work. I was going to recommend the plug with the indicator lights but did not know they make them in flats. Mine is a round seven pin.

sorry but thats not entirely true, running lights will work but will go out as soon as the brakes are touched, flashers will also work but they aren't "really working" smile they will flash the complete opposite of the truck flashers which will let you know you have a bad ground. Trust me if it has to do with lights I've had it go wrong smile

Little 10 amp fuse under the hood fixed it. Thanks for the help.
