Going down to Port A next week on a snapper trip. Does anyone advice or know how the snapper are running?

I've seen many recent reports with limits for all. Most were caught using 1-4 oz. snapper slapper lures tipped with cigar minnows or squid.
The lure colors were white, white/pink, blue/white etc.
The snapper ranged from 3 lbs. to 22 lbs.
The average catch was 8 lbs.
Good luck and be sure to post a report.

I went on a snapper trip on the opening weekend. We had a great time. Went on a party boat with 40 people on it and all but 3 caught their limits. We were using some time of shad, looked like threadfin, and squid. Either was catching lots of snapper. We had limits of Red's, got into a school of vermilion and several Lane snapper. I took home about 11 fish total with the different types, all of my red's were about 7-10 pounds. It was a great time, and they're great on the table!!!

Snapper was slow and the water was choppy. The biggest was 20 lbs, but all mine were undersized. Oh well, maybe next time
