Im playing on making a trip out past the Port A jetties soon and looking for some waypoints to go to. I have looked at some Hot spot maps and will basically just go out to the rigs that are within eye site from the jetties. Anybody have some waypoints they willing to share or helpful advice?

Thanks

As it was explained to me, you will
have more luck asking a fisherman to share
his wife than his private numbers on the
gulf. The rigs you can see, the
map has the published numbers, other than
that always keep one eye on the locator
as you are travelling. If you run across
a wreck or piece of rough bottom, you may
have just found you own honey hole.
Good luck

If your just going a few miles out the rigs and ship anchor area should do you fine. If your looking for wrecks and the like give me a few days, see if I can come up with something. Afraid Mo may be right. Know about the rocks 40 mles out or so, right?

I have heard about the rocks but don't know where they are at. 40 miles if probably farther than we want to venture out on our first trip anyway. But the only thing I know about is what I can see, which is the rigs. Our Lowrance GPS system shows some wrecks off shore so I may drive to some of them that are within range.

just looked over Hiltons offshore website. Got 3-d maps and waypoints as far as I could tell. Academy has them and several other places. Might be helpful for what you need. Seems to have some wrecks, etc..........

Have you checked out
Topozone.com
http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?lat=27.83361&lon=-97.06083

It may not give you the rigs, but you can print off the map, and then use your cursor to locate the GPS coordinates of channels and depth changes. It may be of some help.
