good, but you gotta find one about 25 inch when they are good, and really fun to bring in with light tackle.

Very good to eat but make sure and trim the blood line out after you fillet them. Normally I just lay the fillet out flat and run a sharp fillet knife across and it cuts the red meat right off the center of the fillet. And the big ones are fun to catch and they hit like a freight train sometimes. I remember the nights of catching two 48 quart ice chest full and some so big the tails would hang out the top of the cooler. Great memories.

What's the best way to fish for Gafftop? Eel on the bottom? This weekend I was trying squid on the bottom but I was still catching hardheads, croakers, and stingrays.

My best results always came from right aroung a channel in the middle of the Bay. Sometimes in the channel and sometimes flats aroung the channel. Drift sguid on the bottom until they hit and throw out a anchor and enjoy. The hardheads and croakers where never a problem in these areas. Just watch out for barges. Best hours were 6PM-2AM.

We were out on Saturday and caught quite a few gafftop on dead shrimp. They seem to be really plentiful right now, and by the way, I just filleted them, removed the bloodline and they are delicious!

some eel or eel like fish (cut up), and let it float around or stay at bottom... if the area has hardhead (that are too small) start from the top and let it float down, if you catch a stingray (cut it open and use clams and stuff for bait).
