First off I want to say thanks for all of the great info everyone has shared in my search for a used boat. I am about to finally pull the trigger on a 1996 Procraft Pro 185 with 175 EFI Mariner. What is you opinion on Pro CrAFTS. I know they are not a popular as some of the bigger names but this one is pretty cool looking. Lake testing it this weekend. Just looking for some more information on these boats.

I believe Pro Crafts are fine boats. I think they quit makeing them. You might take that into consideration when buying (getting replacement parts could be difficult).

My roomate at tamu had one and i can tell you to check them over really well. They have a ton of wood in them that is prone to rotting. Check the floor in it very well if the owner let it stand in water uncovered it could be rotten. Other than that I thought it was a pretty good boat. They are cheaper and not finished out as well as say a ranger or basscat but they are good fishing boats.

Great boats, my first Pro I bought new in 86 had it for 18 yrs no problems. Currently have a 93 had the transom repaired due to a stump but that is the only issue and I've had this one for 7 yrs.

I have a 1999 astro (same boat) and its freaking awesome. Wide hull and built solid as a rock. Its my 5th bass boat and my favorite so far. You dont need a dealer for parts. Its has a Merc your good to go.

Ive got one and it's worked out fine so far. Mine is a 2005 super pro. It's definately not as nice as some others I've seen but I've been satisfied so far. I looked hard for 6 months or so and they overall seemed to be the most fair priced I could find.

The old ones had the hardest hull on the market. Solid!
I had two of them. 18.5' and a 20'4" and they both fished great.
Like said above, I replaced all broken parts myself...simple parts and no computer circuit board BS.
Since they changed owners I have not been around them.

I thought they had a issue of the transoms caving in due to having wood back there and it rotting
My buddy picked up a tidecraft a few years ago and his transom caved in....
