I don't tournament fish so I guess that makes me a weekend warrior. I live 5 minutes from the ramp though and "luck" on to my fish M-F evenings and avoid the weekends on public lakes this time of year. So you can be sure if you have used skill to locate your tournament fish I used luck to soar lip them before Sat morning... lol.

I do think the guys that put ten foot step ladders on the front deck are taking it a little too far.

Not the point. My point is we are messing with them during their breeding season as well. Also have a better chance at taking a good one during the rut.

I see your point. I was just being an arse.

But deer overpopulate easily. Not the same problem with bass.

My only problem with bed fishing is during tournaments such as the last 2 elite series events. You have 100+ guys catching every female they can for several days, taking them away from the nests. Who knows if they eventually spawn out when released from the tournament tanks. Places like fork where most of them go right back into the water and back to what they were doing seem fine to me. Of course tournaments have the same effect during non spawn times as well, concentrating fish in specific areas(ie. marinas where they get released).

killing deer in rut still aint the same as fishing for big bass on beds unless you intend to kill a trophy bass. Hunt with a tranquillized, take a picture and let the deer wake up an hour later groggy then you got more an even comparison. He is still gonna wake up and go chase a doe, just like the fish are still gonna spawn.

Then what is the arguement and why is it considered bad?
I am not against either and do both.

dont have an issue with it just prefer not to pull BOTH fish off the bed leaving eggs unguarded.
