Rode with a bud yesterday that has 2 of them and we lost 3 bolts off of them. Have you had this problem? He called Minn Kota and they are replacing all Talon hardware on every Talon sold.So if you have had problems may call the service department and tell them.

I have two talons and the new mounting hardware is great. I also had lost bolts, but so far the new hardware has worked flawlessly.

I have a talon with the new hardware. Has been great so far, with no loose bolts.

I would like to afford a talon in order to have the bolts fall out.

I saw a pro at the recent BASS Open at Lewisville. The first day when the wind kicked up to 35 out of the west, he came to weigh in with one Talon 45 degrees forward and the other Talon 45 degrees backwards. They obviously did not test them very well before coming to market

What does the new hardware consist of? The old hardware was small bolts that went in from the side to the slider bar (2 on each side of the Talon), and only had lock washer's to hold them in place. The new hardware has bolts coming out of the slider bars, and you use lock nuts on the outside now. Ive been running both for a few weeks now, and they got it right with this hardware. After talking to David from Minn Kota, it sounds like they might be coming up with a whole new bracket in a month or so.

Holy bracket flex...they suck. How the bracket doesn't break in two is a miracle.

Question. Why would you want a talon over a power pole. Seems like the Talon would have a lot of disadvantages. First, how would you get the boat in the garage bc the poles don't lower down. Second, when the lakes come back up seems like you have problems getting under some of the area bridges. For example, duck creek on Tawakoni. When the lake gets up that bridge can get hard to get under. Not knocking the Talon. Minn Kota builds good stuff. Just seems like they could be a disadvantage over the power pole. I don't have either.
