Anybody heard any news on how the remodeling is going. from what I heard, may be 4 or 5 more months before it opens back up. We just bought a new tent, a small boat, and some other things. Can't wait for it to open back up. Should be some good camping and fishing.

I read an article the other day about the state trying to give some of the state parks to local communities to run but Daingerfield tured the state down because they did have the funds to handle it. the state will try anything to balance the budget.

I heard something about it on our local news here, but I was at work and couldn't really pay that much attention to it.

If I'm reading right, Daingerfield State Park is going to open back up July 1, 2011. www.facebook.com/daingerfieldstatepark

One of my favorite camps! Can't wait to see what they have done to the place. +100 they are taking the plumbing off the old septic system & connecting to Daingerfield city water. They basically gutted all standing buildings and remodeled thru-out (Baths & showers too), the main bldg by the lake will now house a park store & has been expanded & remodeled.

Oh WOW! I can't wait to see it! This is my second favorite park of all time. Some of my most romantic happy memories with my sweetie.
I wonder if I could / should beg a trip for my birthday.

Has anybody been since they re-opened? We've been twice but not to camp. Gonna have to cool off a little before we go camping. We carried the kids swimming. It's really nice. A lot of improvements...especially the restrooms.
