Howdy, I am in search of a decent spot at Joe Pool lake to do some bank fishing. I have been to the spillway, but the water is pretty low and didnt get anything but dinks. I have also been to the fishing barge and up under the bridge next to the barge, with also no luck but small fish. Could anyone please point to an area where I might have a chance to land me some keepers please? thanks for your time and info.

I am beginning to think that nobody has any advice for me, or is reluctant to give toss to me a bone I know that there has to be a spot at Joe Pool to bank fish. Please, could anyone give me some places to try out? thanks in advance.

The problem with Joe Pool is, there just isn't alot of keeper fish there. The lake seems to have alot of stunted growth fish, due to over population. I hear the bass fishing is not that bad. I also have caught some keeper crappie in the park area near Lynn Creek Marina. Pay your $5.00 and fish the banks in the park area. To be honest, if you're looking to catch eating size fish you're probably better off going to Lake Arlington, especially if you are bank fishing.

Where do you bank fish on Lake Arlington? I've been wanting to go out there but don't know too many places out there except the boat launch and below I-20 on that creek. Thanks for any info.

Thanks for the heads-up Dmunsie. That would explain the dinks I have been reeling in.

If you're looking for cats at Pool then try fishing up about 30 to 40 yards into Lloyd creek (go in Lloyd Park entrance then down to the boat ramp - walk around the north end of the ramp and there will be a trail leading to the creek). Took the boat up thru there last week and there were several guys fishing off the west bank and a few of them had some pretty sizeable kitties.

Decent Spot For Lake Arlington:
Take 820 and exit on Ramey. You want to turn and go PAST the KFC at the intersecion. Go all the way down the street till you come to the dead end and turn right. This street will lead you all the way to the lake. You can also fish near the Plant's Warm Water Outlet. But last time I was there they flooded the area and it was unreachable by bank. But you'll see a new fishing/boat launch dock there too. Further down the park there is some good bank fishing areas. Worth checking out.
