The TP&W was supposed to have introduced stripers to Lake Lavon a few years ago. Does anyone happen to know how the stripers are progressing along with the hybrids that have existed on the lake? It seems like the striper and hybrid populations on the surrounding lakes nearby have done pretty well along with producing some quality fish. Can this lake produce anything other than black bass, crappie, and catfish?

Really, I know there is a small population of stripers along with sandies in the lake. Interesting that the surrounding lakes have decent striper and hybrid fishing, I wonder what the problem is with the lake. I talk to several people who fish the lake on regular basis and I hear of a few stripers being caught but no quality fish and no large numbers.

I used to live on Lavon and the stripers/whites were there in the far corner of the dam opposite the spillway also near the island. We used to catch quite a few in that area of the dam. Might be worth checking

This subject has been hashed over in the striper forum last year. Do a search and you'll find it. TPWD discontinued stripers because they weren't taking to the lake well enough. Too hot of water in summer and not deep enough as I recall. 3 years ago I caught maybe 3 striper during spring and early summer but not enough for me to keep trying. For hybrid it is better to stay south on Hubbard, for striper, keep going to Texoma or Tawakoni.
