Next time you are in the market for an off the shelf rod look at the custom Hurricane Red Bone Rods out of Florida IM-7 Blanks, I sure like them for the price http://www.redbone.org/rods_info.htmlMy main problem with finding off the shelf stuff is I like LONG one piece rods -- 7'-8' with a parabolic bend thru the rod Dobyns makes a GREAT 8' crankin rod that I use for Striped Bass and big cat casting waaaay out there. But at $212.00 its pricey.

Sheesh... The more I search and research, the more expensive this gets!!! Think I like the 6'8" length of the Castaway rod I felt yesterday, I am going to go back and compare to the Falcon Lowrider 6'8" "angler of the year" rod in MH... At 129.00, that should be a great worm/jig rod for a curado E7 to sit on!!

WhataBass,
Have you considered St. Croix Mojo Bass rods?
Just a thought....

I hear great things about the St. Croix. I am looking for a solid grip vs split... I know, I am limiting myself, but I am a creature of habit and want my first higher end rod something close to what I am used to!! St Croix does have a full grip in other models but get a bit pricey!

Stop by Lake Fork Tackle in Emory one day -- check out their rod rack, but bring a couple of C-notes

The Falcon MH is a good choice for your T-rigs & Jigs. I might would also consider CastAways "GO 2 Rod" CastAway has a new series out, "Go 2 Rod", should be hitting most Academy's by now. It is a sub $100 rod, made on the same multi-modulus blank as some of CastAways high end rods, also has the patented double exposed(skeleton) reel seat. The main difference is the guide components. As with other CastAways they are splined and built in USA Montgomery, TX. The GO 2 7Mag MH G27M is a excellent choice. Between my wife and I we have 12 7mag's, for the very reason you mentioned. The 7mag MH's feels like a hybrid between a MH & a Med to us. This allows the rod to be way more versatile. We use it in most our techniques, from cranks, jigs, plastics, senko's, spinnerbaits , etc. Wish you were closer you could borrow a couple of mine for the weekend and give 'em a test run. I don't think you would be disappointed. Let me know if I can be of any help. I whole heartedly agree. The new Castaway Go2's are awesome. I have the 7 foot med for cranks and let me tell you, it's definately worth the money.

You know the old saying
If it floats, flys, or f___s it is always cheaper to rent!
You have to decide which is more important.

Save up a bit longer and get a G-Loomis Mossyback ( or any other type for that matter)and you won't be dissapointed.

i love the tfo rods. i fish a 7 foot 6 heavy with a orra sx for stripers on texoma and it is great. 7 foot with a revo for bass. 7 foot 6 med light spinning for crappie. why spend 300.00 on a high dollar rod when you can get 3 tfo rods for the same money and use them for different species and uses. i also have the tfo rods in stock.

Take a look at the Denali Rods. A custom made rod, high modulas, and won't put to big of a hurt on your pocketbook. Same day shipping as soon as you pay.
Take a look at these two: Rosewood Matrix - 843WJ - MH - Fast Action Flex Rosewood Matrix - 844WJ - H - Fast Action Flex
