Was shown today exactly how to make a 120 LED, high intensity Green Light for about $22.00. As soon as I get one made so I know exactly what to order, I will post the sources for everyone. Its sooooooo easy.

The green lights are 10X more effective at attracting fish than a regular white lite, especially submerged.

I've seen it enough to absolutely believe it.

The design is simple, and I would love to show everyone the parts, but this danged bad weather apparently is affecting the delivery of the light strip. Once I get the light strip I can see exactly how big of a clear PVC pipe I need to order from Austin. When I take pictures of it I will probably do the posting with normal PVC pipe so you all can get the idea. This whole project was a coming together of a friends green light which he made and finding green LED's in a light strip made of clear PVC. The new LED's I found are WATERPROOF, which may change the need for the finished product to be watertight. If you can allow it to fill with water, then you don't have to worry about leaks and also the need to weight the bottom to get it to sink. Making a waterproof one that floats and then weighting it sink seems counterproductive. We will see when I get the light strip.

An interesting thing to try out will be using a combo of Blue and Green LED's. Green seems to be the color that attracts the most fish, but Blue and Ultraviolet are the colors that penetrate the deepest in water. I wonder if UV LED strips exist??

In answer to my own question - yes they do exist, a little more expensive, but the do exist. Maybe use a combo of green and UV and toss florescent lures.

they sell UV stuff for reptiles and amphibians so cant be hard to find. But you should know that UV lights stop producing UV a long time before the bulb burns out, all the info I have read for my Bearded Dragon recommends changing out the UV bulbs every 6 months, so I am guessing it would be the same with those. So you are talking about a LED strip that would cost more and need replacing much more often. I personally would stick with green, maybe blue, hell make it a duel color light and stick the strips side by side

If it ain't broke, fix it till it is.
