Does anyone have any pics of Bee Readys mounted in bass boats? I am thinking about buy 1 to use for winter time crappie fishing and would like to see where you mounted it.

I have some on my boat, for drifting for catfish, so probably not mounted the way you would like them. I have one on the back deck and one on the passenger side on the front deck.

Mounted one base on each side of the front deck and bought the two seat set up from Grizzly Jig Co. Works great for two people to set up front and spider rig. If your going to fish by yourself, I'd mount the base off to the opposite side from the trolling motor and put it where it doesn't interfere with the foot pedestal.

Bee Readys are fine rod holders, but for one thing, the bases that screw down to boat. For that very reason, I went with Hi-Teks. same principle, but the bases are flat, eliminating a tripping or hang up hazard.

I have a bass boat and like to fish an extra rod or two in the winter myself, but would want something that's pretty much flush with the deck when I'm not using the rod holder. That Hi-Tek setup looks like it would work well.

I guess if you put the Bee Ready base close enough to the edge of the boat, it wouldn't be too bad of a trip hazard. Decisions, decisions...

The base of my BeeReady's has never gotten in the way. I fish a good bit and have yet to get hung up or tripped, not saying it could not happen. I am sure I have ginxed myself. The pplacement of the base is right near the edge of the carpet for mine

This isn't Bee Ready, it's Tite-Loc but I figure most are similar...

I just went out and took these pictures. The boat is covered so the top was partially pulled down. I hope this gives you an idea of what the Bee Ready's will look like on your boat.

The boat is a Nitro N750 2004. The starboard placement was a no brainer. I just made sure it was comfortable when sitting in the seat (single, I don't have double seats) and that the trolling motor cable would clear or not get tangled with the bracket. On the port side (trolling motor) I made sure before mounting the base AND bracket that the trolling motor would clear when dispatching and pulling it up.

I've had the Bee Ready's for almost three years. They are holding up very well. I have the adjustable rod holders. The base is rock solid. The base hasn't ever been in my way - haven't ever thought about it until mentioned here. The bracket locking mechanism on the base is something I added for quick setup/release and storage.

Another reason to purchase Bee Ready's through ProAngler Tackle is that it is locally owned, a founding sponsor of Crappie Anglers of Texas (CAT), attends meetings, participates in club functions and donates gear to the club for fun events. Ed Phillips is a great guy and will get you set up. His number is 214-354-9570.

The BeeReadys base mounts with one lag screw. After winter I take my base off and put the screw back in the hole. The base is in the storage compartment along with the riser. I can put both back on in a couple minutes. Mine are mounted close to the edge of the boat.

I use the Bee Readys on my bass boat and mount into the threaded spot for the front and back pole seats. I use a "Wells" nut, which expands when tightened and secures it fine. Makes it easy to put on and remove. You can find the Wells nuts in most hardware stores. They are used many trolling motor manuf to secure their brackets to the boat.
