Headed out to Hubbard today to try and find some sand bass and hybrids for a 10 year old today. Are there any places anyone recommends I head to try to find the fish. Or any recommendations on what to use. Thanks. Happy New Year to everyone.

I'd stop in at Bass Pro and pick up the 10 dollar map of the lake they have there. All these here guys talk about certain spots on the lake with little code words like peanut and red barn and for months I thought you had to be part of the inner circle to be privy to this secret information. Then I picked up a map and viola there those same little code words appeared with co-ordinates and nice little descriptions of what times of year to fish particular spots and with what lures!!

Wind is out of the NW gusting up to 35 MPH. I really hope no one went out today. The lake looks like the ocean.

To know the location of Ta Dah Ta Dah point, V Point, Long Ridge, Devils Thumb, Curve Alley, Gar Cove, Number 11, Whiskey In a Jarro Flat and a few others, you have to be part of the inner circle or sanctum, I forget which one it is. I am curious why you picked up a map and a viola??? Do you play? I tried my hand at the violin, but decided to stick with the git fiddle. Maybe the viola would have been easier since it is of a larger scale than the violin thumb

VIP, I saw two guys in a small jon boat trying to get out from the 66 ramp in rockwall. The wind was blowing right into the ramp and one guy was waist deep battling the small craft. I just thought to myself "Someone is going to be calling this a tragedy in a few hours, when in reality it is sheer stupidity." Oh well, I guesswe are all kind of stupid in our own way crazy

I haven't been on Hubbard in over 2 months..

All I could do at this point is look for birds, cause I have no clue where they would be.

Good luck guys

NItro is very dedicated, he once drove over 480 miles and fished for 3 days to catch a 5# striper.

Won the pot for big fish and most stripers.

It ain't easy making it look easy.

I do go the extra mile when there is cash on the table Georgee!! Lets see I won $8.00 for biggest striper and $4.00 for most striper. That was a total jackpot of $12.00. I spent about $1,000.00 in gas, lodging, food, tackle, etc, so I it looks like I came out ahead on that one thumb

Deus Misereatur, I thought by your screen name that you were a bit of a jokster and would find the fun in my response. I see now that I was wrong and you are similar in nature to Dr. Phillip Barbay from the movie Back to School. I will not joke around with you again and I do apologize for coming over the top on your typing error. Have fun and may you catch at least two fish in 2011 rock

Hmmmm...what about my screen name indicated that I was a jokester? Do you know what it means???

I dont mind jokes at all but the elitist attitude some fishermen have is a bit annoying. Your reply came across very condescending not joking. That is what I took exception to. I got into fishing because it was something that my son wanted to do. I myself have never been a fisherman but I dedicate many hours online and on the lake to try to make his experience as pleasurable as possible. I have learned a lot in the past year and enjoy sharing what I have learned with others. I pray that I never become so good at this SPORT as to think it reasonable to look down my nose at others!!!

You are right, I am sorry. I didn't mean to make you upset, just poking fun. Welcome to the forum and yes I do know what your screen name means or rather is. Have a blessed day, brother.
