FYI, i had nothing to gain by doing a video for them. I was trying to be helpful. Actually, if you were soliciting business from them by shooting a video for the site, then you would have had something to gain, and any assertion otherwise would be patently wrong, unless you were offering to do it for free. It seems to me that you made up your opinion on the fact that they didn't respond to your solicitation rather than first hand experience, which isn't helpful to anyone that is actually considering purchasing one. I'm not upset with anyone, but I don't have any respect for proselytizing from those that lack experience on the product, and I don't care what product it is. If you've used one, then the sharing of your experience should be welcomed, negative or positive. You're just as welcome to express your dissatisfaction with them just as I'm welcome to say that your opinion on it is doesn't carry any real merit, since you haven't used it. Agree to your heart's content, and I'll disagree with completely unfounded comments.

Ok. Thanks for trying to make me the scapegoat of this product. There are so many people who've had views and opinions of this product, but you choose to attack me. You've been taking this personal from the beginning, but it's only with me. What's the real problem?

No personal problem, Corey. If you've noticed, I haven't said anything against anyone who's used it, negative or not. I don't know you personally, but I do have an issue with what I've outlined in my previous comments.

Let's end it on this. You've tried and you like it. If you're happy, that's all that matters.

Company still hasn't posted a video on YouTube showing the product working despite numerous suggestions on here. But given the small surface area of the net, and the fact that you can only pull it slowly through the water, I'm surprised that it catches anything but twigs and weeds. Also, netting is white which scares minnows, vs. black like most minnow seines. JMHO A minnow seine covers a much larger area and even with that, you often may come up empty. I'm sure that they make great pool skimmers though.

Hello all, I only meant to offer my experience with the Minomax, because I knew there were others on here that had wondered if it works well or not. I didn't catch any minnows that day (a cold day) using the minomax, but I did catch a handful (a little over a dozen) using my 15" minnow seine. So there were minnows in the general area, just not much. I'm sure that on a typical warmer day, the Minomax would catch Minnows IF there was alot in there swimming around. But other than being able to catch minnows or not, I was trying to describe some of the problems I ran into while using it. In my honest opinion, it is over priced... I believe a fair price would be in the range of about $20. The retrieving rope is a bit flimsy (tends to knot within itself sometimes when you throw the net). Again, this is only based on my experience. I'm not here to bash the product.

One note of caution - There must be minnows in its path to actually catch them. Otherwise, it's like being mad at your rod when you're not catching fish in your toilet.
Probably woudn't catch a fish in the toilet, but I'm sure I could hook up with a log.

Wanted to add... I can toss a casting net with ease... The retrieve rope on the minomax is a bit on the flimsy side... I believe this is why at times it tangles on the toss. Maybe Minomax see's my review, and would consider changing the material... Normally when a new product comes out, it will have positive and negative reviews, and the company will take those reviews into consideration to improve it's product.

Hey, let them know your concerns with it. I think it's a small enough company that they'll heed your input.

I've talked to the owner, and he's very open to suggestions. Give them a call.

Folks are trying to make a living and I'm sure there's a place for minomax in someone's tackle box. Personally, I wouldn't plunk down $45 for this when I can spend $20 on a castnet. If they lowered the price to $20, please let me know and I'd be willing to get one.
