Going camping with the family at Lake Fairfield state park this weekend. Anyone got any good tips on catching the cats? Thought I would drift across the flats in front of the state park using dead shad. Any other ideas?

I do know something about about the cat fishing there. Drift between the state park and the discharge. Also drift down around the dam. Instead of using the whole dead shad, cut it into chunks it seems to work a little better that way. Let us know how you do. If you want to set some jug lines the dam has always produced for me.

PS. watch out for the coons! Last time I was there they even took all my bait perch from the bucket in my boat!
