Its a crappie tournament..its no like its the Mcdonalds Big Bass Splash where there are 3000 boats on the lake! Dont let a tourney run you off the lake, there is plenty of water to cover on that lake!

It look like it going to warm up a little just in time for our first tournament for 2011, low 40's to the mid 50's, that crappie fishing weather.
Hope to see all of you there, remember this will video by the ArkLaTex Sportsman for the TV Show and put on there web site, they get over 5000 hits a week.

Anyone who sponsors or organizes a tournament. I am very much anti tournaments after some of the things I have seen. Tournaments use a public resource whithout paying a dime. All taxpayers pay and a few benefit.

Most people that fish tourneys spend an awful lot of $$$$ in the towns on gas, food, hotels, ice, bait, etc. If your not fishing tourneys your not doing enough to give back. I think your obligated to buy two fishing licenses to make up for the difference.

As for those sponsoring tournaments, the feedback that they recieve from tournament fishermen relative to bait innovations etc.. etc.. help ALL fishermen. That said, it is a free country and you are entitled to your opinion regardless of your lack of knowldge on the subject..

Dennis, sorry for hijacking your thread..
Best of luck to everyone fishing the tourney on Fork on the 11th. Should be a great day of fishing and fellowship. Wish I could fish it, but I have a little Golf Tournament in Louisiana that day.....

Brian,
You have it all wrong. Tournaments need to pay a big fee to the state for the use of a public resource. When there is a big tournament going on noone else can enjoy the lake. I understand that there is an economic impact but fisherman buy gas & supplies regardless of tournament or not. I understand that other states charge a public use fee to tournaments. Tournament fisherman are a bunch of rude people and care nothing about anyone else on the water. I fished Fork during Mickey Ds and people actually had the nerve to say that I should have just stayed away. No one will ever convince me that tournaments are a good thing for the fishery. How many bass survive being banged around in a livewell all day, handled and shown off and then thrown in a plastic bag. I witnessed a weigh in at Ray Roberts one day and it was disgusting how the fish were treated and these fisherman claim "catch and release". I think it is catch and release dead and or with serious head injuries.
