hmmmm i thought i heard that that was at tawakoni on the 2 mile bridge ? about 6 weeks ago a guy with a throw net drowned about a hundred yards where we were fishing on 175 at cedar creek . one of the fisherman noticed that he wasnt where he was tossing and got curious he didnt speak much english and he came up to where we were and informed me that his bucket and hat were floating in the water so we walked over to where he had been and i noticed that the algae on the embankment had a slide mark so i called 911 and he was drug out about an hour later . that is a very sad thing to have to see believe me . if you cant swim its best not to even be that close to the edge . my sympathy goes out to the family . jesse

I can swim ok, but I'm as guilty as the next guy about climbing around on rocks next to extremely turbulent water right below the powerhouse. I saw two older guys capsize their boat in that water several years ago, and the only reason they survived is that they were WEARING their life jackets. I know they're not cheap, but I'm thinking of asking for a Coast Guard approved suspender-type life jacket for Christmas. A friend over in Tennessee has one, and you hardly know he's wearing it. His is the auto-inflating type, but they also have the manual type. $100-$120 at Bass Pro.

Well if there were skid marks on the embankment then chances are that feller might have hit his head on the way in and knocked himself out and in turn drown.

I can vouch for the Sospenders, good jacket and very comfortable! The comfort alone is worth the price!

I don't care if it's 200 bucks or 15 bucks, if it helps me float I'm gonna use it...I always tell myself over and over while I'm on the lake, "if you fall in DON"T PANICK just float to the top and swim back to the boat." Kinda get my mind ready to react if it ever happens. I hope to God it works
