 What am I doing wrong?

I have been going catfishing at night below Lavon Dam for about the last 3 months. Me or my buddy catch quite a few really small catfish but very few keepers ( like 4 in the last 3 months ). I have tryed just about every bait known to man. Somebody please help....

Why don't you try somewhere else, like highland park boat ramp. I see guys catching fish off the bank there alot. The bank area at Mallard Park is good to. Sharon

I would say either early or nighttime fishing would be best. Sharon

Oh yea, and with the water being so low at Lavon right now do you think it would effect the fishing at Mallard Park?

mmajor, If you are launching a boat, I would choose a park other than mallard. It took me a few minutes just to find a way through the stump maze to get out to the main lake. since the water is low it has exposed all type of stumps. This I think would help catfishing in the area but making navigating around it a challenge. ------------------ Shawn www.[censored]

Thanks for the info. I am going to give that a try this weekend providing it doesn't come a flood. Would you suggest using shad, blood bait, shrimp,or worms?

Fished Mallard for three hours today north of boat ramp around the point. No bite and water is low.
