Which launch site? A mile and a half is a long way to paddle in a canoe, but I've done it more than once, lol. As long as it isn't windy, I'll go a long way.

Hey jugmaster those are some nice chunks. I'm not wanting any secret lures that you are using but have you been catching them on plastics or hard baits? I have been doing real well on 3 to 5 # er's on the edge of the river channel at about 10 to 14' deep on drop shot rigs and a few at the dam on buzz baits..Here is a 5# er I caught a few days back at about 15' around some stumps near the old river channel.

Did you happen to catch those worms in a cast net? I hear you can catch tons of worms from 10 to 12 inches in "shad" color this time of year. By the way, you should switch to circle hooks so you don't gut hook so many fish.

Yeah, if you're gonna use live bait for bass, circle hooks would be the best option IMHO. For kids too. Shows how to be a responsible angler. No hookset; just reel set.

no offense to anybody, but if your not in my boat you dont know. My next bass that weights more than 13lbs I will donate to the share lunker program for all to share.
There is a kayak fishing tournament Sat and Sun until noon so slow down for the kids.

Jugmaster, you catch so many good fish, why dont you fish some of the small tournaments and cash in on your great pattern?

Mmm... give this guy a break. He's getting on some really good fish regardless of how he's catching them...

There is a kayak fishing tournament Sat and Sun until noon so slow down for the kids. For all to share???? Better rethink that one cause last time I checked only a couple of lakes get to share in the "share" Lunker program. I had a conversation with a tackle shop owner on Falcon the other day where we were talking about our dislike for this program. Trust me, your doing more good by releasing that fish back into its natural habitat. It will produce way more offspring on its own than we could ever get them to do. Plus, why take a fish that is so big and old out of the lake, your taking out some good genes and eliminating any chance of that fish getting bigger itself. A 13 lb bass is the equivelent of a 100 yr old woman, they just cant take all that stress. Now, its your fish and your decision if you catch one, but dont think that "sharelunker" is hands down the best thing to do. On a side note, this dunlap is producing more quality fish than choke these days. Hopefully it doesnt get too over-run!

dunlap is always overrun. just not with fisherman.
i haven't been in a couple of weeks, whats the water clarity like on the bottom half? love it when that water settles down without skiers and it turns that green blue color.
gonna try to get out in the morn at schuman's beach. anyone having any luck in the pads or has that bite died down lately?

I fished the outer edge of the pads near the dam with black spinner bait and caught a few 15"ers. I fished right before dark the other night and the bass were feeding like crazy. Maybe they do this all the time at dusk but I have never been there to see it?? They were even running into the side of my boat when they were going after bait fish. I caught about 8 bass(in 20 minutes) on a weightless fluke that were all in the 14.5" range and they were nice and fat..I CPR'd all of them. They were chasing little schools of shad all over the place.. I caught them out in the middle and near the shore.. I wish I would have had my son with me.. He would have been in hog heaven dunlap is always overrun. just not with fisherman.
