I know this is off topic but there isn't a section for carp fishing. I live in England where we call it Course Fishing. I will be traveling to Texas soon. Can anyone give me information on some good carp lakes around the Dallas area? pardogdave has been extremely helpful and offered to take me but the more information the better.

Thank you

Oops, my mistake. I thought you were talking about golf course fishing. You know late night topwater chugging for big bass while evading local authorities! If it is truly carp you are after I think get the net will hold off on his turtle fishing long enough to show you his favorite carp spots. Just don't try to keep the fish cause he gets real greedy with what he calls the sweetest tasting meat in the world. When he goes on this rant just grin and mumble uhuh and you should be safe.

Well shoot ILOVECARP ...since Getthenet is currently himself in England...is there anyway we could arange a ....errr....permanent fisheman exchange of some kind. Maybe get the Rotary club involved like they do the exchange students. I guarantee ya the States and particularly those who know him will be getting the better end of the deal. Hee-hee! I bet ol' Pardog would agree with that! I think yall have a class of carp over there that are a few notches above what we have here. I am most impressed with serious and complicated methods used in chumming etc. Oh and by the way - Many thanks to our true friends the Brits for their partnership with us in Iraq. Their bravery and sacrifice will not soon be forgotten by most of us here in the States. And God bless Tony Blair.

I wasn't fishing for them but I have caught 4 in the last few weeks on Lavon on Danny King's punch bait. I didn't have a scale and didn't want to lift them by the gills but 3 of them were well over 10lbs and the fourth I don't even want to estimate but he was huge compare to the others.

Wow, that DK's punchbait is something else...even catches carp. This will be great news for pardogdave. I'm sure his tackle box will soon contain a healthy supply of it to help him with his never-ending quest to pursue what he calls the "golden bass".

Happy Carping!!!
