This is probably a little late response but fish the far east (L-shaped) pond. It is full of bruiser bass. The center pond is full of nice catfish.

this is probably a very very late response but if you go out there again you should know that someday somebody is going to pull a double digit fish out of the U shaped pond. in the middle pond its pretty easy to fish. theres a place where it looks like a boat ramp (under some trees) but there are three huge drainage pipes in there and kind of a creek bed so there you have structure and cover. the majority of the middle pond is shallow. by the tree's are good use plastic 4 in worms and fish really slow and i think youll get some tight lines. the wall by the trees. and theres a creek that flows from it and theres kinda a dam there so id hit by that dam because again i think theres some structure. thats pretty much all my spots on the middle pond.

i've gone to bethany lakes twice now in the past month and see good size 2lb bass in there....and all my lures no mattrer what don't get a bite...i see the fish throw it to not spook...but they just sit there and dont bite anything.

and its the same w/ everyone that is there while i'm there

is this due to overfishing? whats the deal?

Those ponds get tons of pressure, and the fishing can get pretty tough there...but the same could be said for any city pond.

You either have to have some patience, and/or put in a lot of time there to figure out what those fish will take.

I think overfishing may be part of it. My other theory is that what the bass are used to feeding on in those ponds aren't that big anyways, and you have to use smaller lures.

I've had a few slow days that got better when I switched over to smaller panfish/crappie lures. Not entirely sure whether that's my theory being right, or my confidence in those baits, or a little of both.

Been there a couple of times and caught a few small bass and large brim with a fly rod and Berkley Trout Worms.

Went Friday morning with the Dallas Fly Fishers. Caught several bass ranging from 2.5 to close to 5 pounds on a Cap Spider (chartreuse). Lost one huge bass after he made a couple of nice runs and jumps. He straightened my #10 hook. All were in the shade near the shore.
