Head to the hills of OK. It should be cooler up there!

Beavers Bend or Broken Bow Lake!

Open your eyes & look within, are you satisfied with the life youre living.

No matter how good or bad you have it, wake up each day thankful for your life. Someone somewhere else is desperately fighting for theirs.

Tyler state park.

Cleburne state park

Glen Rose state park.

Meridian State park - our favorite of all time. Smaller, out of the way, and not a whole lot of people.

Cedar Hill isn't bad. Isn't great, but isn't bad either.

Whitney state park.

I think Fairfield is within that circle.

Mineral Wells State Park - FUN place.

Basically, draw a 75 mile circle and ask about a park. Meridian is my first choice, but tyler really is nice too.

Call ahead before you go. Make sure they have space available. Especially with this wonderful weather we're getting for the weekend, people are going to be flooding to the parks. Call around.

If your willin' to travel to Whitney, McCowan Valley is a very nice park. They have spots for tents and trailers or they have little screened in cabins that you can rent which are pretty nice.. Not sure what time of year you are wanting to go, but their swimming area is really nice also.

I here many people say Mineral Wells is their favorite. On my list to do. Fairfield is just slightly over two hours from DFW. Not bad but there are better on the list.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

I wouldn't opt for Fairfield just now..it is very low and they had a recent fish kill. I have to second the Meridian vote earlier . It is far and away my favorite park, I refuse to go to Ghorman anymore, but I don't think you can camp there...You won't be sorry if you head out to MSP, and they have screen cabins too with electricity and water spigot, and you can still have your campfire...I am just partial to it I huess because we have had many good times there , with hopefully many more to come...Hope you have a blast and catch some fish.

If you don't really want to know, then don't ask me, because I will tell you !

Winnsboro is a cool place to camp, got a little supply store restaurant right there on the camp sight.
