Is a medium mouth the same thing as a mean mouth? A mean mouth is a F1 hybrid between a Smallmouth bass and a spotted bass...I would love to catch one!

Here is a pic of a meanmouth I found, but I doubt if there are any in Fork since there aren't any smallmouth for the spots to cross with

They are all over but not very common. They exist here in Texas. They can be in any water that has both Smallmouth and Spotted bass. I think a big one was caught in lake Murray, Oklahoma which is just north of Texoma a couple years ago, I am thinking it was 6 or 7 pounds but I could be "misremembering"

cheers Man that is a monster. We call them mean mouths and yeah I think they are a smallie/spot cross. I've caught a couple on Broken Bow and 1 on DeQueen Lake in Ark. They pull like a freight train, but I've never seen any that big! Since it's hard to find alot of smallies and spots over 5lbs, I wouldn't expect them to get very big. The one I caught on DeQueen was about 4lbs and I thought it was alot bigger than that by the fight. Wish they were more prolific! bouncy
