Tried morning again, some Sandies, got skunk on Hybrid. Got back on lake in the afternoon. Lines down at 4:45pm left at 6pm: 4 Hybrids from 7 thru 10 lbs. They were deep, about 25ft around humps proximity of Twin Trees.

I'm glad you found some. As long as I've been fishing , I have not yet hooked up with a hyrid. Did you go by the twin trees in 25-30 feet of water to the west? Bye the way, where are the twin trees in regards to the twin poles?
Tight Lines! God Bless

Dan,
I just started fishing Lewisville for little more than a month, got turn on to Hybrids through this forun. I do not know the lake much, if you have a GPS, here the coordinate that I alway fish at with much success: N33 05.148 W96 58.911. I only troll using HellPet and downrigger, have gotten Hybrids on both. In late July, they were suspended at about 15 thru 20 fts of wafer in this area. For a couple of weeks now, they are about 20 thru 25 fts. Early morning and late afternoon is the trick. I have seen folks catch them on Live Baits also in this area.
Good Luck, Tight Lines!

Like Dan, I have not yet been lucky enough to hook a hybrid. I believe my problem is the hell/pet is not going deep enough to get to the fish. I'm curious about your down rigger. How much weight are you using ? What lure are you trolling? How far behind the boat is your lure?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Chuck

BrandyJack,
Thanks to your info I tried this area yesterday (8/31) for 20-30 minutes before the rain set in heavily around 6PM. We pulled in a few sandies, but I was hoping to prevail upon you for a bit more information about the Hellpet setup. I got the rig going no problem, but I have no idea how to tell how deep I'm running. We were trolling about 3 mph, but I'm not sure how much line We had out. Is there a formula or system for determining the hellpet's depth?
Edited to say i decided to do a search and found the formula for hellpet depth. Rookie mistake! Was that your big white boat with the aqua STRIPER logo on the side a the downrigger at the starboard side of the transom?
Thanks,
Chris

Yes, I decides to brave the elememet also yesterday. The Hybrids were not cooperating. Only get 6 good size sandies for 2 hrs of trolling. Was too windy and cloudy for the fish. I fish on Lewisville often, I just fix my VHH yesterday, will be on channel 74 if anyone want to share info.
